Why
do I need an eye exam?
Regular eye exams
are recommended for all ages, especially those with familiy histories
of ocular diseases, high blood pressure, and diabetes. The early detection
of some diseases is possible before problems begin. We test extensively
using the latest computerized diagnostic equipment to monitor the
health of your eyes and to determine your correct prescription.
A comprehensive
eye examination includes:
Presciption analysis for
• Eye glasses
• Contact lenses
• Laser correction evaluation
Binocularity - how both eyes work together
• Eye muscle movement/coordination
• Double vision
• Strabismus (wandering
eye)
• Amblyopia (lazy eye)
Ocular health
• Glaucoma evaluation
• Cataract check and monitoring
• Retinal abnormalities
• Macular degeneration
• Infections/Allergies
• Abrasion/injury
Visual field testing
Dilation/retinal photography when necessary
Specialty examinations
include:

macular degeneration, or diabetes
Your current presciption may feel fine, however we encourage yearly
check-ups to insure healthy eyes. Also, your vision requirements may
have changed within the course of the year. Perhaps you perform different
visual tasks such as, using a computer, reading paperwork, or practicing
new hobbies.
